Mode of Travel - To Bhutan

Traveller can either travel to Bhutan by car through one of the southern entry points viz Phuntsholing, Samdrup Jongkhar,Gelephu or by flying directly into Drukair from one of the international airport such as Bangkok, Thailand, Kathmandu, Nepal, Delhi, Kolkotta, Bagdogra, Guwahati India and Dhaka, Bangladesh to Paro. Entry by Car through the entry points are possible via the nearest Indian national airport at Bagdogra or the Indian Airport at Guwahati. You can log into Druk Airfor the flight schedule.
Starting October 2013, Bhutan has added another flight operator, privately owned but has the full capacity to provide comfortable services. Traveller can now also fly through Bhutan Airline. You can check Bhutan Airlinefor more details and schedule.

Mode of Travel- Within Bhutan

All major towns are now accessible by road in Bhutan. Despite being a having high mountains, steep slopes and deep valley, Bhutan is well connected by the good network of roads. One can always enjoy the spectacular views of Himalayas (depends on weather) beautiful scenario, ancient villages and heartwarming people with big and welcoming smile on their face that adds charm and feeling of being home far away from home while travelling on the Himalayan roads.

In addition to travel by road, traveller can also take domestic flight services.Bhutan has recently opened traffic for domestic flight services from Paro Airport(western Bhutan) to Bumthang in the central Bhutan, Gelephu in the southern Bhutan and Kanglung,Trashigang in the eastern Bhutan. You can opt for domestic flight services for travel to those places and near by.

Travel Requirement

Tourists can book their holiday package/travel to Bhutan both from Kula Adventures or through the International tour operators working with Kula Adventures as our counterparts in your country.

Note: All tourists are required to make their travel arrangements for both tours & treks through an authorized tour operator on a pre-planned, pre-paid and guided package. Independent travel is not permitted in Bhutan. The tour operator is responsible for all land arrangements during your stay in Bhutan including in-country travel/road permits, temple permits and special permits.
